Tensions in the Middle East have escalated after Israel reported a new wave of missile strikes believed to have been launched from Iran. Officials said multiple impacts were recorded within minutes, prompting heightened security measures and raising fears of a wider regional confrontation that could involve the United States.
One of the most devastating incidents occurred in Beit Shemesh, a city located west of Jerusalem. According to medical authorities, a ballistic missile strike caused severe destruction in the area. Officials confirmed that nine people were killed in the attack and at least 28 others were injured. Among the wounded, two individuals were reported to be in serious condition, two in moderate condition, and the remaining victims suffered lighter injuries.
Rescue teams worked through damaged structures and debris to locate survivors and provide medical assistance. Police officials reported that the missile struck a synagogue directly, causing the building to collapse onto a public shelter located beneath it. Many of the victims were believed to have been inside the shelter at the time of the impact.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing as the security situation continues to develop.
